Our kiddos are busy getting ready for Valentine's Day (and parties) next week. With bulletin boards full of decorated hearts and more Valentines arriving each day, it's a great time of year to show our friends how much we love them.

Welcome 2018 and Old Man Winter!!! In spite of the cold, the children were all so happy to be back.didn't seem to bother the children as they were all so happy to be back and see their friends. Registration is upon us!!! Our currently enrolled students received their registration packets this week. Our Open House is Sunday, January 21st @2:00 This will be a question and answer session, a tour of the school and an opportunity to meet the staff. There is no childcare available for this event. Looking to next week ...The 3's, 4's and 5's will have Chapel with Pastor Derek on Monday.

It has been a busy and fun week here at school! The four year old classes celebrated together with their annual Thanksgiving Feast and the other classrooms have been filled with Thanksgiving crafts, stories, and snacks!Over half of our staff members attended the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Annual Conference at the World Congress Center this week. They will be bringing new ideas back to share and implement in our classrooms! Thank you parents for making this possible through your hard work at Kindermart!Round 2 of our Giving Challenge brought in 606 nonperishable food items for the food pantry at MUST Ministries in just one week!!! The Dandy Lion Class led the way this week by bringing in 121 items! Round 3 will begin when we come back from break, and we will add new unwrapped toys to our collection to help stock the MUST Ministries Toy Shop! Thank you for teaching your children to share with the less fortunate in our community.We will be closed ...
Congratulations to the Zebra Class for winning round one in our food drive for MUST Ministries! They collected 74 items in week one with our 3 day Lamb class and our Kindergarten class following very close behind! The next closing date in the food challenge will be next Thursday and let's see how much food we can collect in the next 4 days! Tomorrow is Hands on Christmas which is a children's craft fair. It is sponsored by the church and the cost is $1.00 per ticket. Santa is stopping by and boys and girls can get their picture made with him! We are looking forward to next week as we celebrate Thanksgiving and talk about things that we are thankful for. Some of our staff will be attending the NAEYC conference next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. They will be introduced to new and exciting things happening in the educational world. Hip Hip Hooray we survived Halloween!! We had a great week despite the children being all sugared up! We will start next week with chapel with Pastor Derek. We have a school holiday on Tuesday due to election day. Our K5 class will have parent-teacher conferences on Monday and Tuesday. The church sponsored Hands on Christmas will be on Saturday, November 11th from 10:00-2:00. Lots of things happening here at SFUMC Preschool!!
We have had a fun week and looking forward to a "spooky" week ahead. We are getting prepared for a lot of princesses, super heroes and fairy tale characters to invade the school on Monday and Tuesday. We will have our Halloween parties on those days! Hope everyone can get out and enjoy the Jonquil Festival this Saturday and Sunday. It will be located in downtown Smyrna and sponsored by the City of Smyrna. Have a great weekend!
Hip Hip Hooray we had another great week! A huge thank you to Cricket's Mobile Petting Zoo for sharing their farm animals with us. The kids had a blast petting and playing with all the furry friends. We will kick off next week with Fire Drills to continue teaching our little ones about fire safety. October is breast cancer awareness month and we are asking everyone to wear PINK on Monday in support of this. Another big day will be Wednesday when the church has their annual TRUNK OR TREAT!! Everyone is invited to attend this fun event. The festivities begin with dinner being served at 5:30 followed by a cake walk and trunk or treat @6:35. Candy Donations are cheerfully accepted (you can drop your candy off in carpool line). The four year classes will end the week going to chapel with Pastor Bruce on Thursday. I hope that everyone gets out this weekend and enjoys this incredible fall weather with your family.
